Summer is Not Over Yet

I have been getting emails from lots of people in different places in the world so I know some people that read my blog do not live in Canada. I thought I should try to tell people a bit about where I live in some of my blogs. London, Ontario is very close to two of the Great Lakes, Erie and Huron and pretty close to a third one, Ontario.

The closest lake is Lake Erie. It is about 35 or 40 minutes from my house to a place called Port Stanley. We went

there on Monday. That was Labour Day. I went with my parents, my sisters and my brother-in-law. We picked a nice spot to sit on the beach. It was pretty crowded there probably because it was a holiday and it was hot. The water was very wavy. We jumped in the waves and it was really fun.

Later in the day, we went to a restaurant that was on the beach. I had an interesting drink. I think it was called Pirate Summer. There was a live band and I liked the music.

Today, we went to Lake Huron. The closest Lake Huron beach is about 45 minutes from my house but today we went to a beach in Bayfield and it was a bit more than an hour away. I went with my parents and my dog, Merlin.

We had a picnic on the beach and then we went for a swim. I tried to get Merlin to come in the water but he is a chicken. I put his life jacket on him and he came in a little bit but then he ran back onto the sand. I threw sticks for him but he wouldn’t chase them into the water.

We went for a nice walk down the beach.  It was another hot and sunny day.

It still feels like summer to me.
